We welcome applications from visiting students, who study for one semester in the LL.M. program and may be able to transfer credits back to their home law school.
IE encourages applications by visiting students. Normally these students take LL.M. classes during a semester before returning to their own law school to complete their degrees.
If you are interested in completing part of your law studies at Instituto de Empresa, you need to start by talking to your own law school's director of international study, academic advisor or dean.
The next step is for this official to contact us directly for further information on application procedures, academic advising at IE, course schedules and other important matters.
Our English speaking staff is committed to helping you and your school meet the appropriate requirements and properly document compliance with your school's requirements.
In the past IE has accepted students from such ABA (American Bar Association) accredited schools as Michigan State, Cornell, and UCLA. In order for students from these universities to transfer credit back to their home institution they had to follow procedure set out by the ABA Criteria for Student Study at a Foreign Institution.
However, this is just an example of how one organization manages its accreditation of foreign study and IE encourages interested students from other countries to research what paths must be followed in order to ensure that your work at IE will transfer back to your home law school.
Visiting students may enrol in any course from among those offered as part of the LL.M. in International Legal Practice, depending on their fluency in the language of instruction (either Spanish or English).
